The appeal launched by the UCA President, Stuart McMillan, at the end of last year, is designed to assist some of the thousands of Syrian refugees who have arrived in Australia having fled conflict in their home country.
There are two parts to this appeal. One part is to support various branches of UnitingCare, our church’s community service agencies, as they provide assistance beyond services that are funded by the government. This part of the appeal is tax deductible.
The other part is for supporting activities within the UCA community that offer welcome and integration. Congregations and other groups can apply for funds to assist special programs. This is non-tax deductible.
Send your cheque made payable to “UCA Syrian Refugee Appeal” to PO Box 24154, Melbourne, Victoria 3001, stating whether it is for UnitingCare services or UCA Welcome and Integration activities (or both); or visit www.shareappeal.org.au.
