James Wigham McGregor

James Wigham McGregor (1861-1925) was an Elder and Board of Management member of Chalmers Church. James McGregor was a wool-broker who started the Torrenside Woollen Mills.  He supported the founding of the Presbyterian Girls College and Scotch College. He was listed as a trustee of Scotch College when it was incorporated in 1922.

Together with the plaque in his memory there are the lovely northern windows, given by their family and dedicated in memory of James and his wife Mary Waddell as active and generous members of the congregation.
