John Gordon Balfour

John Gordon Balfour (1872-1936) was an elder of the Flinders Street Church and, for 17 years, Preses (Presiding Chairman) of the congregation, chairing Board of Management and congregational meetings, a position of considerable power. After the amalgamation in 1929 he became an elder and Preses at Scots Church.

John Balfour was a confectioner and was listed as a trustee of Scotch College when it was incorporated in 1922.
